Being Mike’s supervisor, I tried not to get too friendly with Mike, but if you know Mike that was impossible. Mike has to be one of the most personable people I have ever met. Mike was much more than an employee, he was a genuine and valued friend. He worked great with everyone be it physicians, administrators, technologists, support personnel, patients or their family. Our patients loved him, often asking for him by name. This is going to be challenging for us as we explain his absence repeatedly over the next year or two. Mike truly loved his job and it showed, he was an exceptional technologist. He constantly challenged himself to be the best, enjoyed learning new techniques and often helped others when he had free time. Mike was honored several times by being invited to return to the University of Vermont to talk to Nuclear Medicine students about being a technologist in the real world. Mike, you will be missed by all and left this world much too early. Please watch over us, we will be thinking of you often.
