Your Memories

Words cannot express how much we will miss Mike. He was such a positive part of so many people’s lives, and our family has been truly touched to hear stories and memories from everyone that knew and loved my brother since his passing.

Knowing how many of you cared for Mike, it was important for my parents, Lindsey and I to create a site where you would be able to share these stories and relive all of the great memories and photos from throughout the 34 years we were blessed to have him in our lives. Please do not hesitate to post as many as you would like, as often as you can to help us honor Mike’s life.

Be sure to check back regularly as we will keep updating the site as much as possible.

Thank you for all of the love and unconditional support you’ve join thus far. It truly means the world to us.

This is just a short story about my son who will live within me forever. I’m so Proud of all his accomplishments that I could never begin to tell them all. Sure, we had our moments but we always got through them.

Michael was truly a people person. He would come home for the weekend and spend his time with his family during the day and friends at night. He couldn’t always make it home for the holiday’s because of the weather or his work schedule but we knew he was in good hands down at the Cape. His friends always opened their hearts and home for him which made it easier for us. There are no words to describe how empty I feel. I will think of him everyday as always. I’ll cherish the 34 years we had him and be glad I told him I loved him.

Thank you all for your prayers, pictures and the great stories. For those who knew me, my famous line was “another first for my book” well guess what? This will be my final chapter. The book is closed.

Thank you God for my other son Ryan too, he has been a rock for us all. I know its not easy for him but again his friends are great and will help ease his pain.
Thank you again for all your support at this difficult time. I hope to see you at his memorial Friday.

God blessed us with two wonderful, beautiful sons and I am honored to be their Mom. Michael touched so many lives and he has always put others before himself. I am beyond proud of the man we shared the last 34 years with! Our loss is truly unbearable and there are simply no words. Mike’s unconditional love, tremendous strength and never ending kindness will continue to guide me as I try to heal. I’ve not only lost my son, but also my best friend….so please love, respect and cherish your children every day, because there is NO greater gift!!!

Thank you for your prayers, calls, emails, texts, kindness and love.

She remembers the crime that landed her in the Bastille; on a mission, Nilin remixed the mind of a Memorize commander and made him believe he had killed his girlfriend. Nilin makes her way into Scylla’s office and enters her mind, remixing the memory of a car crash which left her with a bitter taste against the world.

Happy 37th birthday my beautiful son. I know you’re on a mountain today skiing (probably and that makes me smile. I can (and always will hear the excitement in your voice when you’re up there. You are loved & missed so very, very much, but I know I will see you again and what a reunion it will be!!!

Holding you and your brother for the first time is and will always be an indescribable thrill….11:28 am! Thank you for giving me that special day and so many more. God blessed me twice and I’m thankful every single day for being your Mom(s) and giving us SO many great memories to cherish. I love you forever

Sadly, this will be my last entry, but on a positive note, I am beginning to “breathe again” although the pain of his loss is still and will always be present. Mike’s love, memories, words, acts of kindness will always sustain me….and I will always be so very proud of him! He is and will always be in ALL of our hearts FOREVER (esp. during “pumpkin season”… Pumpkin Lattes :)

I am so grateful to Ryan for establishing this website for everyone to visit and keep updated, but most of all, for establishing the Michael T. Foundation. But, since this site hasn’t been visited in quite some time, we decided as a family not continue it.

BUT…I will continue raising awareness to the causes that were near and dear to his heart. Mike dedicated his life to his family, friends, patients and co-workers. I will always respect and honor him for that! Through the Michael T. Foundation, we were able to provide several scholarships to students going into a medical field and also donate to health related organizations that were related to Mike’s career focus. Thank you for supporting us!

As I said when he passed away, I was blessed with TWO great sons (Thank you God) and I now need to focus my energy on the future and look forward to many more happy memories together as a family.

Our new address is:
3605 Cumberland Creek Rd, apt. 203 Raleigh, NC 27613. Please keep in touch.

Love,

Our son Ryan recently lost another important person in his life and although it’s hard to understand it all, we will love him through it and look forward to a brighter days ahead.

It’s been awhile since I’ve written and probably nobody reads this, but I just needed to look at pictures and “Remember Mike” (it’s somewhat comforting) but not one day passes that we don’t miss him. As Tom said yesterday, I had another “Mike moment” today when he saw a young man in blue scrubs who looked just like him….cigarette and all :) Our challenge is turning those “sad” times around and somehow finding joy again. We will all cherish those “Mike moments” forever….thanks Mike!

Who knows where life’s path will take us next, but after losing him, seeing some of our loved ones who are currently struggling with health issues and other issues….it has firmly cemented my belief that there is NOTHING more important than family (and of course some “good” friends) to walk along that path with you! So whether you live near or far, cherish each moment, each phone call, each card, each email, each text….anything that keeps you connected to those you love. You can get through anything life throws at you when surrounded by “good” people!

I hope this finds you and your families well and happy. My new email: kgiunta.nc@gmail.com

Love to all,
Kathy

March 28th came and went….and our hearts will truly hurt forever, but at the same time, I know Mike would not want that! His boss said it perfectly “Mike is probably up there saying, ok, what’s all this fuss about”?!? He loved quick and humor, cherished his family and friends, enjoyed his chosen career (although difficult at times) and he lived his life helping others.
As his Mom, I feel so honored to have had the opportunity to share his life journey with him, even though he left us far too soon. We can keep his dream alive!

Please come to Hank’s Ice-cream on Sat. April 19th to honor Mike’s life and to “Remember Mike” by supporting his passion and dedication to helping students going into a Nuclear Medicine Technology or a Medical Research profession. Thank you in advance.

We look forward to sharing this time with all of you and yes, it will be bittersweet, but it’s also a fresh new start for us in a beautiful state…..exciting :)
